Dental hygiene
If you have gum disease you’re not alone, most people experience some form of it at some time. It’s possible to have gum disease and not be aware of the signs, so it’s essential that you visit us on a regular basis where an examination will confirm whether you are affected and what needs to be done.
In most cases, you’ll be asked to visit our dental hygienist. Apart from giving your teeth a thorough, professional clean, she will put together a customised prevention treatment plan. This usually includes instruction in specific oral hygiene methods to help you control the bacterial plaque
that collects on your teeth. It may also include observations about diet or other factors that may have an influence on oral health.
If you have any concerns about the health of your gums, talk to Lindsay our resident dental hygienist.
